Future Group is in the process of forging a distribution alliance with Star Bazaar, the hypermarket retailer for selling packaged food and grocery brands under its private label. Under the agreement, group company Future Consumer Enterprise will be selling its private brands like Tasty Treat and Clean Mate at all the Star Bazaar outlets, which is presently one of its competitors in the retail space. Food products like dairy, atta, dips, sauces along with ready-to-eat food and beverage brands like Sunkist will now be sold through all the Trent-owned Star Bazaar outlets.
Future Consumer Enterprise is already being positioned as an integrated food & FMCG company which has invested 1,000 crore behind setting up food parks across the country. The company has expertise in agri-sourcing, manufacturing, brand development and urban and rural distribution with business of around 2,000 crore.
Future Group is targeting sales turnover of 20,000 crore by 2021 from its FMCG-led consumer brands. The company wants to go all-India with the FMCG distribution and have already appointed distributors in the general trade as they aim to become one of the biggest players in FMCG, with a product line ranging from food brands like Tasty Treat to tissue brand Kara.
