New Silk Route to buy controlling stake in Moshe’s
Posted On: 03-09-2013 00:00:00 13

As per an article in Times of India, private equity firm New Silk Route is set to acquire a controlling stake in Mumbai's cafe and restaurant chain Moshe's. Owned by Moshe Shek, the business that takes its name from his own presently runs a network of ten upscale Mediterranean cafes and restaurants in Mumbai.

The deal is part of NSR's ambitions to build a platform of Indian food and beverage companies in which it would buy controlling stakes. Last year, it acquired majority shares in south Indian fast food chain Adiga's. NSR is also an investor in the parent of Cafe Coffee Day.

Earlier Mohit Burman of the Dabur family, Everstone Capital and Anjan Chatterjee of Specialty Restaurants too had explored a deal with Moshe’s.
