Monte Carlo Fashions to get Rs 180 cr from Samara Capital

Ludhiana-based woollen wear retailer Monte Carlo Fashions, which is part of Nahar Group will get a fund infusion of Rs 180 crore from the private equity firm Samara Capital. Monte Carlo will sell 20% for the consideration. The apparel retailer is valued at Rs 1000 crore. Religare Capital Markets and KPMG Corporate Finance were the financial advisors to the transaction. The 26 year old Monte Carlo was hived off from Nahar Groupís Oswal Woollen Mills last year, to unlock the value of the brand through listing and private placement. After the demerger process completed last year, Monte Carlo Fashions owns a garment manufacturing unit and a retail business.
