The multi brand luxury lifestyle retail store The Collective, by Madura Fashion and Lifestyle, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aditya Birla Nuvo, will be expanding its presence across eight cities over the next three years. As per media reports, the plans are to open 8 to 10 stores in metros as well as tier 2 cities. However, in view of losses incurred earlier on, the new stores have been downsized from the original large format stores measuring 15,000-17,000 sqft. The stores opened last year in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, were downsized to 12,000 sqft and 8,500 sqft; and recorded a profit in this financial year, with the sales revenues across the three stores at Rs 50 crores. The new stores will be sized between 6,000-12,000 sqft depending upon the city and the location, and will require an investment of Rs 6-10 crores. The Collective stocks a range of 60 international luxury fashion brands including Armani Collezioni, D&G, Fred Perry, Hackett, Hugo Boss, J Brand, Juicy Couture, Michael Kors, Simon Carter, True Religion, Vivienne Westwood.
