Foot Mart Retail is a joint venture between Liberty Shoes and Pantaloon Retail. It is planning to invest Rs 80 crore, over the next two years, to aggressively grow its chain of multi-brand stores in India. FootMart, which retails shoes and accessories under the Shoe Factory brand, will open as many as 60 new stores by 2009. This will take its total to 80 outlets from the present 20. The proposed new stores would come up in tier I and tier II cities, including Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Agra, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Panipat, which have a population base of 10 lac and above. FootMart Retail had closed the previous fiscal with revenues of Rs 20 crore. The company is also mulling to float a new format store, 'Pairs', to retail exclusive branded shoe labels.
